I think the internet is slowing down...

I've noticed over the last few months that forums at a great number of sites has slowed down to a crawl. What was once tens and hundreds of new threads is now just one or two new threads and a handful of posts. Is this a trend for whats to come? I'm not just talking here, but even big sites like [H].

The sites I've noticed the slow down, some tech related-some sport(hunting/fishing) related: Bigbruin, NetworksToday, IANAG, 2CPU, GraybeardsOutdoors, MarlinOwners, [H], THG, AMD's own forums, both Yahoo's and MSN's groups/communities, and more...

Anyone else notice this? Whats happening? I remember the days that you didn't want to sleep in fear that you'd miss something good in a forum, that it'd get buried deep under a ton of other threads.

I would agree that big sites seem slower, but this place is just as busy... or unbusy, as the case may be.

The number of new members per month here is up over the last few months, as is the total number of posts per month.

I think the main thing is that it is summer time. Even nerds go out for some sun and fun. Ever since the glory days of ForumOC/IANAG I have been keeping tabs on stats... And whether it was there or here, the sites growth seems to slow around May, and then picks up again in September...

i have noticed it on other forums i psot at...but this forum seems to be doin allright...it was slow for a while but its back up to pace...
