If you have access to IE 7 Beta 1 and want to play with it, with out killing IE 6, here is a way:

1) Download the IE7 Beta 1 Install from MSDN (Or where ever you get it)

2) Open the install file with WinRAR (yep, it's an EXE, but it's a self extracting EXE) and extract them to a folder. Alternatively, you can just run the EXE, make a copy of the files which are extracted in the first step, and cancel the install.

3) Look in the folder you extracted to for the file SHLWAPI.DLL. Delete this file.

4) Create a new text file in the folder, then rename it to IEXPLORE.exe.local.

Found this info through my work, and I've tried it and it does work. One note I found, ZoneAlarm doesn't like this. There is also a lot of compatabily problems from what I've heard, but this is a good way to test it with out replacing your current version of IE.

Lastly.... this works for all versions of IE => than IE 3.0

Enjoy!

DOes it finally save the tabs? Or do they still go away everytime you close IE7?

No, you always start with 1 tab. But you might be able to change things, I haven't played with it much.

That or you have allowed the site because they had a pop you needed. I have a couple sites like that (newgrounds and such).

IE7 has tabbed browsers like AOL, Compuserve, and other 3rd party browsers?

If so, I'll be using IE6 then til I die. God I hate tabbed browsers.

Yup, it's the way browsers are heading. IE is just catching up to the other browsers.

NOthing says you have to use them. You can always ignore them.
