alright so i was bored and playing with the old laptop when i came up the the not-so-bright idea of hooking it up to my good computer.... so i went and got a monitor cable and plugged it into the spare port on the vid card. an error message popped up on my computer saying that there was some sort of serious error and that it could no longer suppprt the drivers and video accelloration and such. so i reboot the system cause nothing video related was working... so it boots up the windows logo appears and such then it just hangs... my monitor goes to standby and nothing happens.... a little later a blue screen-o-death pops up then the system reboots. i went in safe mode and everything works fine. i restored it back a day and still nohting works... if i reinstall the drivers would that fix it or did i fry something???

You could have something starting to die. Safe mode probably works because it only loads minimal VGA support, but in regular mode, once the drivers start to activate additional features on the graphics system, you'll get instability, BSOD's, etc.
