Problems accessing the site.

I'm at work here, and frequently visit BB quite often. I've never had a problem before. After the server move I would get this when I tried to access BB " This account has been suspended, Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible "

I orignally thought this might just be our web server trying to cached files from the old server. After a few days it worked perfectly again. But in the last two days I'm getting the previous problem.

I can still search the forums by going to bigbruin.org, and I can post like I am now by using ipzap to access bigbruin.... Does anyone know a way I can get back to bigbruin through normal methods?

Ping bigbruin.com & .org and see what you get?

Also, your not using any host files are you?

I can't ping it, and I don't think I'm getting past the router here. As for host files you got me clueless.

Sound slike your DNS or edited host file is pointing back to the old server, which would explain the suspended message. I still have the server, but all accounts are suspended to prevent accidental access.

To check your hosts file, browse to:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

and open "hosts" with notepad.

see if there are any entries in there for bigbruin.com

if not, feel free to add this one and your machine should force its way to the site...

72.36.129.30 bigbruin.com

(with the IP and URL separated by a TAB)

but, remember you added it if we ever move again! Grin

Well none of what y'all said worked, but one of our newest members who works with me (closedeyessseeing) fixed it good for me. ipconfig /flushdns worked a charm.

he must have typo-ed or forgotten his e-mail... believe it or not, people have registered with e-mails they don't use any more... Laughing

I will look at the e-mail tonight and help him out.

I think it was his work e-mail, which might have filtered out the request from here. Highly doubtful but hey it could happen.

Tell your buddy his account was activated. He can login with the password he picked, but he will need to check his profile for a correct e-mail address. Grin
