Wait - it isn't April Fools Day - Mac's aren't bulletproof? What? Laughing

More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information, according to a Russian antivirus company.

What they fail to recognize is that the MACs are the first to be exploited at each of the hacker conferences. Sad thing is they're just not a huge target because of their small numbers....

I can't help but laugh everytime I read one of those news articles. Too many people always think they're safe with a MAC. Just proves ignorance is bliss.

Hacker conferences are not exactly a fair representation of real life, now are they?

IMHO, the biggest problem with malware these days (hasn't actually changed in the last 5 years at least) is the inability of Sun and Adobe to secure Java and Flash/Shockwave respectively. I'd estimate, just by pulling numbers out of my a$$, that more than 50% of the worlds malware, be it PC, Android, or Mac, originates from known security holes that Sun and Adobe leave wide open.
