FYI, I have one of these for work and you need to be careful about using the external power block. I connected it as directed and my USB port on my laptop smoked, literally. I'm just glad it was a work laptop.  Anyways, just be cautious. |

Yeah, my power supply is dead, when I plug in a hard drive it won't power on fully and makes a clicking noise (the drive and power supply). One 2.5" SATA drive actually beeped when plugged in!
I checked the power supply's label and saw 'Made in China'...explains the longevity of the device  |
