I have these half-height RAMs from Kingston. Is it helpful to put heat spreaders when I overclock from 800Mhz to 900Mhz?

@ Jason -- I use them in my main rig. They're the cheapest available I could find. I think they're ideal for HTPC and car PC. Here's the newegg link:

@sbrehm72255-- yeah, I agree. It might just be useless with the moderate OC I do. Last night I was able to OC to 900Mhz with just the stock 1.8v.
One advantage of putting the heatspreaders is I can easily take out and put back in the half-height modules.
I'm just worried that if it doesn't help much, will it harm my RAMs? |

Did you read the customers' review on the link I posted? They seem to be talking about half-heights
Will you put heatspreaders on yours |

I won't be putting heatspreaders on. No room for them, and I don't think they're necessary. Check out this look at DDR2 heatspreaders...

I think the answers are "yes they saw it" and "no they did not comment".

I did some more online research on topic like you posted and so I decided not to put heatspreaders anymore. It's not practical for the very minimal OC that I do |
