I know there must be something out there for this...

When opening a few files in excel, if you close excel with the master X it will close all files. I want each file to open in its own excel. So I can open multiple files and use dual monitors (and not close everything on accident).

I tried google, but I don't even know what to search for to get any decent results.

thanks

Not sure if there's an easy way to do it. What I've always ended up doing is opening multiple Excel windows (using the real Excel icon, NOT an Excel document). Then opening the documents within Excel, not by clicking the Excel document.

I know that was one of the changes to Excel 07 that I love, along with the increased rows/columns (for work anyways).

That's roughly how I open Excel docs; launch the program then open each spreadsheet individually from within Excel. It's the only way I know of for multiple sheets....
