I am curious if anyone here has an HTPC with a PC speaker setup I am looking at.

Right now I am using my Monsoon speakers (two satellites and one sub) plugged into the green audio port of the integrated sound of my motherboard.

I would like to get some speakers that uses the S/PDIF port (connected to the S/PDIF header on the motherboard). I read quick that this port is digital and should be the only wire that connects a speaker set to the HTPC and decodes DVD's digitally.

THANKS

So... you want a mini set of speakers with SPDIF?

I use that on a home theater receiver...

EDIT: Logitech Z-5500 would work.

No... I have older Logitechs. These were just the only ones I saw on a fairly quick search that were digital. Well reviewed elsewhere, though.

idk, I guess its just that I want speakers now...the 10w on my 32" viewsonic are horrible.

and the z-5500 is way too much when I won't even use the two rear speakers. the z2300 is 1/3 of the price too!
