Installation is simple, all that is necessary is to slide the tray out of the external chassis and connect your hard drive of choice. On the bottom of the tray you use four screws to secure your drive. The final part of installation is to slide the tray into the enclosure and secure it with four hex screws (two on each side). - The Review

Hello Big Bruin,
First off I would like to say great forum.

This is what I was just looking for. A Hard Drive Case Enclosure that supports both IDE and Serial ATA data cables!

After doing some searching for other brands, this was the only one that supports both IDE and Serial ATA. And I don't know if I should get this or what, the reason I am asking this is that since I've never heard this brand name -- I am thinking it might not be that good, but I might be wrong (I guess I am being dumb and looking for a well known brand name, its amazing how brains get tricked when it comes to that Bang Head ).

Tell me what you think, should I get the Vizo Luxon 3.5 Inch IDE/SATA Hard Drive Enclosure...?

Thanks Smile

The drive enclosure is still in use, and used every day under pretty heavy usage. I've had no issues with it at all.

Is the tray for the hard drive, metal or plastic on the Luxon?

Thanks

The entire tray is plastic, however where the hard drive goes there is a piece of metal/aluminum on the bottom.
