Does anyone know the difference between these two standards? Trying to buy some GBIC cards for some new switches sI'll be ordering...but came up against these two options that I've not heard of (LX vs SX)

Any help would be appreciated!

Different connectors is all. You just need to make sure that both ends are the same, and that you buy the fiber with the right connectors.

If you REALLY care, it's about the length of the lightwave (SX = short, LX = long). They are really the different ways of doing the same thing.

I don't think one is better than the other.
