Ok... so I have a system that uses AGP that Misty will be using for some gaming. I have an ATi 9800 Pro w/128mb that I am planning to put into it.

Is there anything out there in AGP land that is worth the money to spend to upgrade from that card too??

In my opinion, ..not worth the minor gain for the $$$ investment(yet).

I think you can get a ATI 850 (with letters), 6800**, and a 7800GS in AGP flavor..

If I were to buy another AGP as an upgrade from my 9800 Pro, it would be either the 7800GS or ATI 850***.

now thats if my memory serves me correct. ..getting old, dont remember squat anymore.

My 9800 Pro still runs sweet. I posted a link to my Athlon XP-M @ 2639mhz with stock 9800 Pro.

3dmark 2K1 = 17800+ http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8836355

Not bad for older card on older system. Plays every game I've thrown at it. HL2, Doom 3, Fear, BF1942 uber-hi res

Yea, there are a few differences in exact models, and there is an ATi x1300 & x1600's as well.

I'm just not sure they will give anything other than maybe so more Video RAM and PS 3.0.

bah.. unless you just bought yourself something, and have to buy her something to even "things" out - stick with the 9800 Pro..

In a few months, a total system upgrade will be a good bang-for-buck move for her.

The system she'll have is an XP-3000+ 1GB (Maybe 2GB) RAM, 160GB SATA Drive, and the R9800 Pro.

When's your next system upgrade planned? ...or hers I mean.

Her system is right at the recommended system specs for DDO, so it shouldn't have a problem. ..considering the minimum is well below her specs.

Compiling home pr0n movies that she been sharing with us would go smoother with a system upgrade. Grin

Well that explains where all that extra money is coming from.......

Not sure on the next upgrade. I might just put an X2 4200 in my system and call it done, or I might go for the bigger upgrade and get an AM2 or Conroe based system
