Wow, it would be funny and sad at the same time if it was a bad mouse all this time... I wonder what mouse he was using during all of this before he switched?

Well, amazingly enough, IT WAS THE DAMN MOUSE!

It is a Logitech G5 Laser mouse. I swapped out with another old one and it solved the problem.

I took the bad mouse to work and the same problems started there. On Logitechs site, I found a firmware update that fixed the whole problem. I am still amazed at the problems a simple mouse was causing. Oh well...
