I'm looking for a good Heat Sink I can put on my A64 system. With summer approaching it's time to kick up the cooling abilities, with out kicking up the noise.

So I'm looking for a HS that can take a 92mm fan, mount sideways (like 99.99% do) decent price, specially considering there is no OCing going on.

Thanks!

Ive read good things about zalman and scythe. I am looking for a heatsink/fan myself and will probably go with zalman.

specifically

Zalman CNPS9500 LED heatsink/fan

But then im thinking of o/c so this may be overkill for you. I imagine if your not planning on o/c then pretty much any aftermarket heatsink/fan will do.

If I were to pick today, I'd probably pick the Scythe and pair it with a Panaflo - because that is my favorite fan of late.

I've got Thermaltake Sonic Towers running in both my PCs. They are advertised as fanless but use of a 92mm fan provides a 10 degree drop in temps (Celsius) on average. I usually run a max load temp of 43 if the room is warm and such, but never more than 46. At idle, my temps drop down to about 36. My sig has all the detaisl on my PC...

I was using the TT Sonic Tower for a long time on my second rig, bit I switched to a Zalman 9500 a few weeks back, mainly for looks I guess.

The stock cooler is not bad with A64s, no?

I can't use a tower system in this case.

I was thinking about something like this:

or

I think that it's the cooler now coming with AMD X2s and up,. It's either this one or an other Cooler Master model. Talk about a stock cooler!

Google can give you the answer. Wink

TT Big Typhoon is one of the best but not 92mm. CM Hyper 6+ is also good but it uses 100mm fans.
