I guess that whole scandal about these having no indication of real life performance is just about over with? It was big in the news for a while, but the 3dMarks are still going strong... I guess all review sites use real games now instead of only relying on synthetics.

Or a bit of both, as using games is great but quantifying the results can be tricky and subjective.

Aye, for anything that would need benchmarks such as those, I tend to run both games and these standardized type of benchmarks. Then also give a person feel depending on the games I am playing at that time, since many of them do not have benchmarks for them (EQ2, WoW, SWG, DDO, CoV, etc.).

My X850XT still only gets 1-2 FPS in parts of 3D05...

Can't wait to see the .25 FPS in 3D06
