Got a call on Tuesday from a local company saying the found my resume on Monster and wanted to talk to me about a Information Security Job. So I asked for more details, did a little research on the company, and agreed to meet for an interview.

... Spent 4 hours interviewing today, got done at 4pm. Got a call at 5pm offering me the job. With almost a 25% raise over what I'm making now. Yikes

SCORE!!! So starting in 2 weeks I'll have a new job.

OOO I wasn't actively looking for a job either.

Thanks guys. As for schedule.... not sure. This is a new position (I'll be the 3rd guy), and they are really growing and really busy. So... who knows. But instead of having to drive down today (35 miles each way), I'll only have to drive about 13 miles each in very little traffic. So instead of a commute time of 45 min's to 1 1/2 hours each way (depending on traffic) I'll have about a 20 min each way.

As for what you spend 4 hours on... well.

1 Hour with HR
1 Hour with the Director of IT Security
About 1 1/2 hour technical interview with a senior security team member
about 30 min's with the director of corporate security (physical security).

I had an interview recently... assumed it would be an hour or so, wasn't until I was done that I realized I had been there over 5 hours! Bang Head

They didn't even offer me a job, which was fine, as they seemed so disorganized that I wasn't surprised when at the end of the session no one was around to see me out because they were having a retirement party... Laughing
