If it is gone so be it but I wish there was something other than the excuse of being down for maintenance when you go there. Why not just tell the truth?

The truth is, according to my sources, is the system was hacked awhile back but the problem was not fixed. It was hacked again and I am told there are no valid backups of the site. And for what it's worth, Icenine, you disappeared from the site for nearly a year or more without hardly any input so don't badmouth something you didn't help out on....I didn't know forum-bashing was allowed on this site but evidently it is.... Well, there's a lot of knowledge on FOC, and a lot of traffic to both sites, but if it's gone, oh well. We'll carry on and be even better for it.

I had over 4,000 posts there if I remember right, (half useful half spam Razz

) but all the useful info is in my head, so it's not lost. The only thing that is lost is my lapping guide. If the sites don't come back, whoever wants to host the guide can have it.

FOC and IANAG have a pretty turbulent past, and I think it would be pretty hard to build up trust again as far as reviewing goes. So this is probably for the best.

If they do come back, so will I. I'll continue on there like nothing happened. I have some serious doubts as to that happening though...

I didn't intend to encourage bashing by leaving this thread open, but I understand the frustration and let this go (but under a close watch) so people could discuss and even vent a little. I'm very mindful of not letting this get ugly as was the case when Mods4Me appeared, and have kept this site separate from FOC and IANAG for that reason...

I was hoping to see the sites back up soon, or to have some sort of official word on their future... but DeathStar's post confirms the buzz I had heard, and I really don't know what you can do in that case!
