I want a new cpu, and don't want to spend tons right now... But, I'd like a 333 MHz fsb'ed chip, with hopes of running it at 400 MHz.

I currently have a XP2200+ that I got as high as 362 MHz fsb, and I'm looking at the choices in my poll... Any opinions?

I upgraded my 1700+ TBred to a 2500+ Barton and have been very happy with it. I have mine running at 2250 Mhz (12.5x180)and think the PC 2700 is holding me back some. For the price I dont think you can go wrong with the Barton.

I'm running my Barton at 200 x 11.5 for 2300Mhz. Excellent chip, and the additional cache is a huge bonus.

Get the Barton

Confused - Haven't seen one of them... 2400+ Thoroughbred does have a higher clock than a Barton 2500+, but I'd like to see what you're talking about!!

Woops, made the mistake of throwing "Barton" in there. LOL. The 2400+ has a higher initial clockspeed. I'd go with it unless you're going to overclock.

But... the 2400+ is a 266 fsb chip right? There isn't a 333 version, is there?

I want a 333 fsb chip, in hopes of getting to 400. I'd buy a stock 400 fsb chip, but they are too beaucoup... $$$

Hm... I thought there was a 333 2400, but I can't find one. I found a 2600+ though with 333. It's 2.13 GHz Proc. $90

Yeah, it was between the 2600+ thoroughbred and 2500+ barton really, but I made the poll include those two and the 2700+ just in case there was something special with them...
