HI... welcome! Yeah, I think we need a little more info.

Like what motherboard, what application, and so on.

Is this a Windows based BIOS tool, or a typical bootdisk floppy updater?

Thanks for the replies.....I downloaded it from Major 'Geeks Bios downloads....it's called just that BIOS Information Tool. The screen that flashes by is black like a comman prompt screen.
I should have told you I'm 69 years old but not senile....yet.
My board is a Tyan S1854 Trinity 400 with an ATI 4.51 Bios.
I'm geeting out of my depth hear.

napolean...Welcome!

What you downloaded was a rar/zip file. Either you have Win XP (native zip un-coding) or you un-ziped it to a folder on your computer.

Either way, look in the folder you un-ziped it to, there is a file there called "report 1"...right click on it...open it with notepad...and it will tell you some information on your 1)motherboard...2)BIOS version...3)Motherboard revision...4)Video card

Welcome to BigBruin!!!

With this kind of talk, you fit in perfect!!!

We are the smartest bunch of folks ever!!!

(Or Trek just happened to get lucky and we will ride on that for a long time and never be able to answer any question ever again!!!"

Either way, BB is an excellent place to hang with "normal" folks...

Trust me...
