taking this off topic...what would be a good size for a ssd? is 30 gigs enough for the win7 install?

30GB is small... you could do it, but you'll have to be very alert when installing anything, and will have to spend time remapping file storage.

64GB is a good point for price and capacity. Many big brands with units that size, and I have heard good things about the Micro Center branded 64GB drive... 280MB/s read and 270MB/s write... http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0351760

It is a big rebate ($45), but you can get a good Kingston 64GB SSD for $64 after rebate... buy.com
