I believe this has been said before.

Take $9.50 in quarters
Throw quarters out onto the lawn
get them good and hidden
tell the kids theres 10 bucks worth of quarters out on the lawn, and have them hunt em out.
Hopefully it'll take 3 weeks for them to give up on the last .50

BAH my kids would find the easy ones and head to the corner donut shop where they sell ice cream and blow it all and be back in 5 min bugging me. Actually so far it is going well. They got into it once and had to clean the living room including dusting and vacuuming and all has been good since. Grin
