I used isopropylic (sp?) alcohol to clean it up, thing is I put the alcohol on, wiped it off, but it seemed like the compound was stuck. Using an eraser proved very useful to remove the thinnest layer left on the heatsink.

Ah yes, the eraser! A long time ago in a......whatever! A pencil eraser brought many a system back up I was using as systems then seemed to have everything mounted with edge connectors. Needed to "buff off" the copper oxidization. This was back when one could still "see" transistors. Yikes Rolling Eyes Laughing
