Seems to me like a scam to take advantage of people who don't realize they went out of business and it's not the same company.

Exactly my thoughts, especially with that return policy this just wreaks of poor business practice.

Yeah, it's the buyer's responsibility to check the terms of purchase before ordering.

I still hope that at least their prices will be attractive. Rolling Eyes

What a joke, I just did a comparison of a Sansa MP3 player and it came to be $4 cheaper than Newegg...but add in that crappy return policy and you are getting the shaft in that deal should something go wrong. I would gladly pay the extra for the service at the Egg

There seems to be two different return policies on the site now.

One is the same as Tiger Direct's and CompUSA's, and is about what you might expect:

http://www.circuitcity.com/sectors/aboutus/legal.asp#return

Another more detailed one is where all the problems come from:

http://www.circuitcity.com/sectors/Help/return.asp

I don't know the whole navigation of the site, but it seems the restrictive one is only accessible through the welcome back pages... While the vanilla one is linked to in the Terms and Conditions link found on every page on the site.

Tigerdirect is putting a lot of focus on Circuit City making it their primary Retail outlet. I would assume they have a lot of work ahead of them adjusting policies and what not, however if you can get a product from their retail store that is $4 cheaper then say Newegg, that is pretty good for retail. But like it has been pointed out they need to have a friendly return policy.

Thanks for the info, Jason!

That's strange that they have two different 'aproaches'.

I have a feeling the more detailed one is the CORRECT one... Confused

I guess we'll know only by asking them Rolling Eyes or...trying to buy and ask for a refund... Laughing
