Like you already know though, the system you are using above is actually higher quality than the HP system.

Here is something more comparable to the HP (Video card is better though, closes I could find):

Would I go with that or the HP? Maybe the HP. Why? Cause for the HP I unbox and go, with that I have to do all the hard work.

Heck - even for the one you posted there really isn't much $$ difference. Then when you add on the postal mail box rental, adding the new shipping address to the credit card(coz Newegg and Tiger are d!cks about addy matching), etc - its virtually just the same..

I'm gonna get the HP and forgo any shipping hassles. Plus at that if something croaks - I only have to deal with one warranty.

I was digging on HP's site, that pc uses a Asus mobo and has onboard RAID with 6 SATA-II connectors. If I out grow the factory case - I can cheaply transplant things into a bigger unit.

I can't say I blame you on it either. The ease factor is really there, and it's pretty big. Gone are the days when you could build a nice system for 1/2 the price of a POS pre-built. The only real time that building your own makes real sense is when you either have a fairly low budget and you really want to squeeze every ounce of "umph" out of system that you can, or you are going total high end and don't have the salary of Bill Gates.

Misty really needs a new system, and I am not at all above buying her a pre-built. Generally the hold out has been the Video, but a 9800GT is a pretty good video card.

I think over the years I've proven I can build'm. Smile Also see now why F1/Deathstar bought a OEM unit a while back too.

Is the 9800GT relatively new? I cant find much for review/comparisons. Most places dont even carry them(yet?).

Or if you had somewhere to send it, just let Newegg build it...

Looks like about the same HP, plus the CyberPower at $1279 looks like nice stuff inside!

No tax from the Egg to you in PA, right?
