I am using Vista Ultimate 64, and have no problems with AVG AV and AS.
Definetly have to turn off that UAC crap though. I turned it off when i first installed the OS!

Did you turn UAC off? That was what I was trying to avoid.

Yea, MS realiazes that many of us hate the UAC, which is why we can turn it off. I still stick to my opinion that it could help avoid some issues if people stop to think about what they are doing, and also to help avoid stealth installs. So the average mom/pop computer user, I still like UAC for them.

But probably like most of us, UAC is turned off immediately (after I have all updates installed anyways).

I think I had mine set to run as admin...can't remember. I'll have to look, but I have UAC on.

Anyone using Grisoft AVG Free with Vista? I have been, but just uninstalled it. Whenever it wanted to pop up a confirmation that an update was received or that a scan was complete, Vista's User Control, or whatever that annoying double/triple confirmation crap is called would tangle it up resulting in an error message and a white screen.

I know it is Vista's fault, but I am trying other things now.

I got 1 year of 3-license McAfee Security Center free for having a Scott Trade account, and so far so good on that.

I never had a problem before I turned off User Access Control. With UAC off, I have no problems as well. It sounds like there is another problem. I think AVG is very good, and the other anti virus solutions have big tangled footprints that bog down the computer.
