I would however make sure you have at least 2GB of ram, even if that means only getting the e6400. Although, you could likely buy the system with 512mb of ram and upgrade it yourself through another vendor and save some $$$$ |
It will have 2GB RAM and a 256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS. Would you get Vista?? Only way to get XP is to get a XPS710 for $500 more. |

What software are you running? Include the versions please
I've officially converted both of my machines over to Vista and have not had any issues (other than sound). Sound on one of my machines gets garbled after about 30 minutes, using a USB headset I don't have that problem though *shrug*
Biggest thing is to make sure the software versions you have are compaitble with Vista.
Photoshop for example, I believe you have to have CS2 (aka PS 9) for it to run under Vista. That's going to be the common issue, makign sure you have 100% most recent version. |

Considering XP is going to cost you more, Vista works for me! |

Go with Vista. The system you are getting should be able to handle it just fine. The 7900gs is an excellent video card and 2gb of ram will help as well. Also, either processor will be more than fast enough to run Vista.
highonv8splash is right though, Aero kind of got old really quickly. _________________

Not to mention if you run one software title that doesnt works with Aero, it shutsdown the service for the entire computer. _________________ ABAP? What did you call me? |
