This question is probably directed most towards Cheeze. I have seen this switch on sale now for quite some time, it's always pretty cheap. I just a switch to add to my existing home network.... currently i have:
a switch -> router -> switch

i plan to put this 2nd switch between the router also...
its a 5 port switch, any idea if its at all good? http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/product/prodBlock.jsp?prodBlockOID=537151620&siteID=l1d0M6hLXJ4-tHCj4KXFFQXrUtzycQ8CIg

My other products are Linksys/Netgear...

No clue on quality.... From what I have seen so far probably isn't any better or worse than Linksys.... I'll let you know shortly on Netgear.

But, when it comes down to it... what are your really using if for? If it's 95% for Internet access and some LAN gaming... your probably fine. If your going to be doing a lot of LAN traffic/file transfers.... the normal rules apply... you get what you pay for.

A good point of reference is to ask F1/Deathstar... he went form a SOHO Linksys switch, to a Enterprise/Professional grade switch. He says his network is much smoother now. (But he watches lot's of sheep & goat p0rn movies across his network... Yikes )

frequent large file transfers? hah... no
actually just looking for a few additional ports in the network (a place to hook up some x-boxes etc.)

sounds like this thing should work fine...
Thanks
