Hey,

I just picked up a Striker Mobo With a Q6600 and PC6400 800Mhz Black Heatspreader G.Skill Ram. Could anyone offer some advise on if I can play with O/C on the standard HSF? or should I wait?

Thanks,
Hunz.

You can certainly see what you can get with the standard heatsink, provided you use moderation and keep a close eye on temperatures. I use CoreTemp because it gives actual die temps, but there are other programs out there that do the same thing. Intel's TAT for instance. I'd keep the voltages around 1.35v and temps in the mid 60's or below at least initially. Once you get a feel for how hot things are you can adjust from there.
