Just updated the forum so that when you get a private message, the email you receive is more detailed (if you have email notification enabled). You used to just get an email telling you that you had a new PM. Now the email tells you who it was from and what the message is.

You know - like most websites have already, but for some reason Bigbruin didn't. Laughing

Input is always welcome on changes. I can't always make them, but I'm willing to consider them. And many might be simple and obvious (like this PM thing), but not implemented yet.

I like the 'new' PM feature. Smile

I like the subscription feature found on many forums. With a place in your profile to configure subscriptions (set notification type (instant, daily, weekly emails) and remove subscriptions).

Thanks - I'll look in to that one. I know we talked about it, and from what I see all the elements are in place, but there just isn't a central page to monitor / manage them. It is all through email notifications and on the individual threads/posts.

No. But I'll see what might be involved with that.

Didn't quite get what Modulok wanted, as this was the first thing I saw / tried...

http://www.bigbruin.com/forum/profile.php?mode=watchthread

Just a page with all your subscriptions where you can remove your subscription... "Un-Watch"

Would be nice to have options... Especially something like Un-Watch All. My page had things going back to 2003 when I first looked.

I'll keep my eye out for anything better.

Working on mrweasel's request now... Wait, don't I have other things to do?!? Laughing

mrweasel's request is in effect. You now get a detailed email when a thread you are watching is replied to (it only notifies you of the first response if there are multiple, just to keep the mail down). There is now also a similar function for watching whole subforums for new posts. So if you wanted to know every time something was added to the off topic area, for example, it will send a similar message.

I am going to refine the text in the emails soon, but you get the important stuff... who posted, what subforum, and what the text was.

Let me know if you see any bugs!
