When I first read, it sound to me like a good hoax. It still might be a hoax, but I personally tend to believe it even though it is strange...VERY STRANGE:

Come on....really? I guess if it is already dead it isn't going to hurt but I can't imagine there is enough solder around those tiny points to melt and reconnect since I didn't do the soldering.

Like I said, it might be a hoax, but if I had a dead card, I'd try it anyway, as I had nothing to lose... Wink

It seems that this story it getting popular and being posted in more and more sites:

http://langaming.net/forums/showthread.php?p=44510#post44510

It has also been posted over Engadget, so I start to believe there's really something in this. Grin

How would you damage more hardware if you only put the video card in the oven?

I KNOW for a fact this works with the X-Box 360 IF you do it right...too much and it's toast. Too little and it does no good. So this doesn't surprise me that it could work.

My 7900GS died on me and I'm waiting for its replacement (another used 7900GS). When that replacement dies on me again, I will definitely try this...
