Hi bleat, thanks for dropping in...

Nope, as I said above... I bought it. I was ready to flame, if flaming was in order, but it wasn't the case. If you look at the header of the review, the source is listed as "N/A" - but when there is a supplier they get linkage in there.

Although not specificed in the review, I kinda give away where it may have been bought... I mention that its available from "reputable retailers" online for $99 (US)... a quick search of the net finds that only one shop has it for this price... NewEgg. Wink

You can't flame me for putting N/A up there.. you basically just were not disclosing it. But I must have missed where you said you bought it and went straight to the bmarks and OC'ing.

MY BAD

Thanks for the quick reply! Smile

Newegg does rock. I've got a 2500+ barton, 8RDA+, and corsair 3200 512M dual pack in my cart that i've been fighting myself to not hit the checkout button for about a week.. Smile

Heh... I didn't mean to imply I was going to flame you... I meant I was all set to flame Geil if the DDR sucked (and promptly send it back to NewEgg, gotta love their RMA policy)... but, no flames required here!!

And, I know what you mean about having stuff on standby ina Newegg cart... I just checked my account history there, and its about $6000 I've spent since April 2002... Bang Head

BB,

Whats the highest FSB that you were able to set the ram to since you wrote this almost a year ago? I have some of the same stuff wasting away in a non-OC'd machine at my house. ...I'd like to use it in an Athlon64 machine OC'd..

480 MHz is still the max on a AMD XP system, when run asynchronously, since my cpu is a 333 MHz version. On a P4 system, when run at the same speed as the cpu, the max is 450 MHz.

If you wanna sell it... talk to me!! Wink - I have a board with 4 slots of dual channel ddr, and have my two in there currently... Laughing

lol... no, dont wana sell it.. I'm buying some cheap 512mb PC2700 stick and a purple heatspreader to replace it in the woman's machine. I need it for an Athlon64 setup that I plan on getting as soon as the Giga-byte NF3-250 mobo's with DPS hit the shelves.
