Unreal! And I recently read a story where a guy bought a expensive LCD monitor, got it home, opened the box, and found he actually had a brick duct taped to a board instead! Tried to return it to Best Buy and they told him to get lost, he must have done it himself!

Yikes

I hate the way Circuit City is too, but where to go now? WTF

Best Buy and Circuit City are what they are but nothing is worse than Fry's ....at least in my opinion. Of course the fact that they have seen fit to escorted me out of the store twice probably makes my opinion some what biased.

me and a buddy of mine were installing a wireless network for some people and it required purchasing a booster. We ran over to best buy and asked "Geek Squad" if they were compatable with the router we were using. Stood there 20 minutes while they searched their computers and the web"yea sure it will work". went to install it what do u know ITS NOT COMPATABLE! Mad it was on the freaking linksys site too. never trust a computer repair person in a tie Bang Head

heheh I love Best Buy's computer department.

I have fun going in there, standing around waiting until they're telling people the wrong thing then correcting them in front of everybody. Another thing that is fun is to go in there when it's crowded and ask a kinda technical question, then correct if they're wrong Smile

Used to give a friend a question to go in and ask them. He'd ask them when I was near, if they gave the right answer, no harm. But 90% of the time they gave a totally bogus answer, that was always a blast to do Smile

Hell, just recently, was in there messing around, and somebody asked what the PCI-Express cards were, and if they woudl work with his computer. Said he had an AGP card now, and has PCI slots. The moron said "of course they'll work, they're PCI cards..." Oh boy did I go off on him for that one LOL

Laughing Yea, back when I was go'n two callage I wurked at Circus City.

I originally started as Christmas help, but they kept me on afterwards, and then shortly prompted me to the SOHO (computer) supervisor. It was amazing how stupid most of the sales staff was about computers. I finally made a rule that if they couldn't handle the sale, and if the customer wanted to return the computer and I had to deal with it.... I took 1/2 the sale (they paid commission back then). Heck there was one part timer that his whole goal was to try and catch a person on the computer and get them interested enough that when it came down to the actually selling he would just get me involved figuring that getting 1/2 the sale was better than nothing. Laughing

OOO And at that time C.C. used to send their sales people to training on the stuff they were selling.
