Raidmax Sagitta ATX Gaming Case
December 14, 2005

A Look Inside:

So, we've seen the outside of the Raidmax Sagitta and all of the glossy black details. The inside proved to be just as interesting with the tool-less design and layout. The first thing I noticed here was the orientation of the hard drive bays. Raidmax turned the hard drive bays sideways for easy installation and removal. This also allows us to install a 120mm fan in front of the hard drives for silent cooling; the front fan however is not included with the case. The first image shows the hard drive bay along with the Raidmax unique tool free design. The second image shows the large 120mm fan on the back of the case.

Another nice feature of this case is the motherboard tray. Just two screws and it easily slides out. It is not, however, a standard motherboard tray that is connected to the expansion slots. It proved to be a very useful tool to aid in an easy installation. The image on the left shows the tray and the image on the right shows my motherboard connected to the tray before installing it in the case.

The 450W power supply seems to have the adequate connectors for a standard computer system with four 4-pin Molex, two floppy, one SATA, and a 20-24 pin motherboard connector. It is not the standard computer system I am building in this case; for this I needed a more powerful supply and opted to use my 600W Enermax unit. I did however check the voltage output of the Raidmax 450W supply and found the following; on the 12V rail it provided 12.03V, on the 5V rail 5.19V and on the 3.3V rail 3.46V. Not the best voltages I've ever seen, but not bad either. One thing that really stood out to me was just how quiet the power supply was, if it wasn't for the fans blowing air at me I would have thought it was off.

One last thing I would like to point out inside the case is a sticker that bothered me. I have never seen anything like it before on any other case. The sticker said "WARNING: PLEASE CHECK THE CASE BEFORE ASSEMBLY, CASE WARRANTY VOID AFTER TAKE OFF THIS STICKER". No it wasn't the grammatical errors that bothered me; it was the warranty void part. So I did a little research on their website and found this under the FAQ section: Q: Is there a warranty on my case? A: Yes! Every case comes with a 1 year limited manufactures warranty, with the original receipt or invoice. I'm not sure why they would put a warranty void sticker on the inside of the case if there is a 1 year warranty on the case.
