Raidmax Glacier CPU Cooler
November 22, 2005

Testing:

The cooler was tested on the following system:

• DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR
• AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester
• 2 x 512 G Skill LE
• 2 x 6600GT video cards
• 1 x 36GB Western Digital Raptor
• 2 x 200GB Seagate's in RAID 1

In order to record idle temperatures the machine was left sitting at the Windows desktop for at least 30 minutes with no programs running and while at stock speeds. For load temperatures the CPU was overclocked to 2400MHz at 1.65Vcore and Prime95 was run for at least one hour. The temperatures were recorded using Mother Board Monitor 5.

During testing ambient temperature remained at a constant 23°C. In order to make a comparison I paired the Raidmax Glacier up with another 120mm cooler, the Thermalright XP-120. For the Raidmax Glacier, a combination of testing was performed. These include one fan on both high and low speeds and two fans on both high and low speeds. The following chart represents the temperatures recorded from each cooler.

As you can see, the Raidmax Glacier is quite capable of competing with (and beating) one of the most respected air coolers known to the enthusiast community.
