Conclusion:

All of the X-Ray Technology mouse pads discussed in this review worked very well with both the Logitech MX1000 laser mouse and a standard optical mouse. While gaming, I felt best using the Thunder 8 pad on the rough surface, mainly because of the size and texture of the pad. The Thunder 9 would have been on the top of my list if it would have fit my desk without rearranging things. The Aqua 3 pad also would have rated higher on my list if I was into drafting and had a large work area. All of these pads should hold up to years of torture from gamers and the average pc user.

Thunder 8

Overall the Thunder 8 earned 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Final Rating (4.5 out of 5 stars):

Thunder 8 Pros:

• Size, slightly larger than normal pad, but not too large.
• Reversible surface for different applications.
• Silicone rubber feet hold pad in one place even while gaming.
• 5 colors to choose from.
• Customizable with personal logo or web address.
• Price, this pad runs approximately $20 at www.thegamercompany.com.

Thunder 8 Cons:

• Difficulty installation of the cord holder.

Thunder 9

The Thunder 9 gets 4 out of 5 stars.

Final Rating (4 out of 5 stars):

Thunder 9 Pros:

• Silicone rubber feet to hold pad in place.
• 2 colors to choose from.
• Customizable with personal logo or web address.

Thunder 9 Cons:

• Size, I would actually prefer the larger size of the Thunder 9 pads if I had more desk space.
• Price, each pad is $30-35.
• No cord holder.

Aqua 3

The Aqua 3 330L earns 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Final Rating (3.5 out of 5 stars):

Aqua 3 Pros:

• Soft fabric top allows for easy mouse movement
• Thickness, only 3mm makes it easy on the wrist.
• Price, approximately $12

Aqua 3 Cons:

• Size, this pad is just too large for my desk.
• Damaged logo.
