Corsair XMS TWINX2048-4000PT 2GB Dual Channel DDR Kit
December 19, 2005

Benchmarks (continued):

Next up was Quake 4. This game uses the power hungry Doom 3 engine and as you can see, the framerates were close enough to call identical. There was no significant difference when running at 1280x1024 or at 1600x1200 resolutions.

Valve released Half Life 2 and shortly there after released a small add-on level called Lost Coast. Lost Coast was given to owners of Half Life 2 to showcase the new technology HDR or High Dynamic Range. The system resources of Lost Coast scream top of the line equipment. Did 2GB of RAM give any increase in frame rate to Lost Coast? Not this time either, again, no significant rise in framerate.

Although Far Cry is not the newest game out there, it is still one of my favorites. It also needs some good horsepower equipment when turned up to maximum details at high resolutions. Nope, didn't get any big frame rate increases here either.
