Everybody has an opinion on climate change. Generally, people belong to two major groups - those who believe global warming is a ruse, and those who take it seriously. In this article, we aren't even going to argue with the former group's reasoning, ignorance is not bliss for them. But the other group’s members, who are concerned with the rapidly changing climate, consist of optimists and pessimists.

The pessimistic view is that the planet is doomed, and nothing could change this fatal outcome. These pessimists may as well belong to the ignorant group, since they've reached their verdict, and gave up.

The optimists, however, are trying to actively participate in preventing climate change, they don't lie to themselves, and don't believe that the measures they take are too expensive, or ineffective.

We have data to back the optimists, from a recent study shared by the International Energy Agency, stating that despite the growing world economy and third world countries continuing to develop and using more and more energy, carbon dioxide emissions have not increased for the past couple of years.

We believe that this spur in the fight against climate change was in part due to renewable energies, solar and wind. Solar has never seen better technological improvement than it does now. In many parts of the world, homeowners have even become energy producers. This is made possible by the advancement in photovoltaic metrology that makes it relatively affordable to get off the grid due to lower production costs for solar panels. Even China as one of the highly fossil fuel dependent countries in the world has realized the magnitude of green power generation. If this trend continues to grow, we may have a chance to make a difference and slow down or stop climate change.
