|
|
The GTX295 (big boy of video cards) has taken a note from the ATI play book and relaunched as a single PCB solution. Previous versions were much like the 9800GX2 in that it was actually two PCB's sandwiched together. However NVIDIA has changed it as it now is two GPU's on a single PCB:

Dam, dont like not being able to buy stuff in america lol.
Ahwell think i can still get the old one about £10 cheaper even if it is a gainward one rather than xfx or evga. _________________ Coolermaster HAF 932 (with extra NF-S12B FLX) II Coolermaster Real Power M1000 II Gigabyte EX58-UD5 II i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz II

Sometimes I wonder about stuff like that as we in the US usually have the larger seletction and price atvantage, usually. But in the case of my Biostar 790GX XE it seemed the "world" had it for about 6 - 9 months before we did. As far as my Aqua Computer stuff, I just go directly to Graeme with Kustom PCs in Ayr, Scotland!
Back on the 295 topic........as I'm still using DX9 XP and "only" have a 24" delll monitor think my XFX 260 BE will run what I need. However for those that can afford and "need" the 295 it is nice to see it "slimmed" down a bit! _________________ As of 02/01/11

Lol i know i dont really need it, specially since atm i only have a 19" monitor . But id rather spend that now on one of those and be able to upgrade to another one of them later on if its ever needed.
Plus its processing power should be useful for photoshopping in CS4 lol.
Does seem odd, id always thought US would have more but the 295 price seems to be dropping by a few pounds a week here. Its already about 3/4 of the price it was when i first looked into getting one lol :s. _________________ Coolermaster HAF 932 (with extra NF-S12B FLX) II Coolermaster Real Power M1000 II Gigabyte EX58-UD5 II i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz II

We've got the single pcb xfx and evga boarsd now, much cheaper it seems as they are only about £20 more than the gainward dual board version atm.
Thinking bout just spending the extra 20 for a single pcb for the slight gains and the fact that its evga over gainward.
What do people think?? |

Not sure about outside the US, but in the US it is worth the extra for XFX and EVGA as they have a better brand name, support and quality. EVGA actually has their own forums as well. _________________ "I'm a mog: half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend!" |
