Hey! I never said anything about his system being inadequate or bashed it in any way! Don't start a fight... Laughing

Excellent! I wish I had more money to throw on my crappy computer, but I've got a lot of other things to do Grin Once I do, though, I'm getting raid!

I now have a near identical RAID array in my new P4 system... Lets compare... Grin

AMD XP2800+ with (2) 40GB Maxtor Plus 8's in RAID 0 on a ATA-100 Promise card... 52383 kB/s on the Sandra File System Benchmark

Intel P4 2.6C with (2) 40GB Maxtor Plus 8's in RAID 0 on a ATA-133 Silicon Image card... 64740 kB/s on the Sandra File System Benchmark

This thing is going to make a good gaming rig! Just need a better video card... Has nothing on it but an OS and Virus Scan... all the work will be done on the XP machine...

From what I've heard not many games take advantage of RAID setups... maybe for loading maps, but not much else. However, I didn't listen... I got my RAID setup here for gaming so... to each his own.

Yeah... any advantage really. That P4 rig has no real purpose but to test hardware, so it might as well be the game machine, too...

Nearly bought Halo today, but I know it isn't worth the $49.99 Best Buy wanted!! Need to order online, and keep playing Max Payne and Rally Sport until then...
