Not sure how to explain this - but the webs are kinda fast today... Two different servers just now...
Earlier it was in the 70MB/s down range with a ping of 5ms... Got faster now, but weaker ping (barely). I don't think it is caching or anything, but the service is only 50/8 Mbps. _________________ Sometimes I laugh so hard that the tears run down my leg!

Currently getting about 40mb/s but Virgin media are doubling everyones speeds for us over the summer so should be up to around 100 fairly soon. No idea if they are doubling uploads though, get about 4 on that. More than enough for most things. Did manage to download an iPlayer program at 36mb/s a couple of weeks ago though lol. _________________ Coolermaster HAF 932 (with extra NF-S12B FLX) II Coolermaster Real Power M1000 II Gigabyte EX58-UD5 II i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz II

I'm getting about 25 down and 4 up. It will get slower during the day and evening though.

DSL stinks...
Cable is just far too expensive here and the bandwidth varies so much. (Where is my fiber optic connection)

| With these speeds around, I wonder if its worth getting gigabit-lan/wan hardware. |

Its not necessary until you have an ISP connection that exceeds 100Mbps. |

Jason - what are you paying for cable internet? Rather... what speeds are you guaranteed. Do you pay for a 20MB/s service? _________________ - Jim |

50Mbps down and 8Mbps up. $55/month as part of a triple play package. _________________ Sometimes I laugh so hard that the tears run down my leg!
