Kingston Digital Releases Firmware Update for SSDNow V200

Better Consumer Value with Increased Performance at New Lower Price

Fountain Valley, CA -- June 13, 2012 -- Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced a new firmware update for the 64GB and 128GB SSDNow V200 that increases performance and fixes known bugs. Kingston® has also lowered the MSRP by as much as 40 percent on all capacities. The SSDNow V200 is the latest generation of the entry-level, budget V series that helps consumers revive and extend the life of their current PC, bringing value and high performance to consumers looking for a super affordable upgrade option.

The new firmware update increases IOPS performance for the 64GB and 128GB capacities. Random write IOPS have increased 136 percent for the 64GB, and 129 percent for the 128GB*. Random read IOPS have increased 22 percent for the 64GB, and 5 percent for the 128GB compared to the previous drive*. The 256GB capacity is unaffected and does not require the firmware update. The SSDNow V200 is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities as either a stand-alone drive or as an upgrade kit to make installation easy. The desktop bundle kit includes the SSD, cloning software, DVD with step-by-step installation video, cables (SATA data and power), and 3.5″ hard-drive mounting brackets and hardware. The notebook bundle includes the SSD, DVD with step-by-step installation video, cloning software and a 2.5″ external enclosure for easy OS and data transfer from HDD to SSD during cloning.
