E-Mail Account Activation

Over the last couple of days a bunch of people have been signing up here, just to have a url in their profile... hoping that the link gets them better search engine placement, I suppose. So, I go through and either delete the whol account, or at least the URLs...

Anyway... Up until now, you just had to sign up and you were a member. Now, the server will automatically send out an authorization e-mail to the address provided at registration. New members then have to click the link in the e-mail to activate their account.

If anyone has a problem receiving the e-mail, please let me know (you don't have to be a member to post in the Site Issues section).

If they were like what is happening on my site, they are all for adult sites.

They don't care about getting registered, just getting their URL out there.

TRUE... but, now you have to take one more step which may slow some down. Your name doesn't show, and therefore your profile, until you complete the process. None were adult, just mundane things like SEO optimization, and online classifieds.

Only reason I didn't have it before is because I couldn't count on the old host to send out the mail quickly, or at all. I did a few test runs today, and it worked very well!
