External Examination:

Once unwrapped, the first thing that you notice about the Burton is the paint job. The high-gloss paint is the same automobile quality finish that we saw with the Black Box series case.

The next thing you'll notice is the rather large mesh panel on the side. It is encompassed by a decorative trim that also has numerous holes for airflow. The side panels are attached with two thumbscrews each, but also utilize a quick-release handle. Simply press the latch and slide the panel back. This proved to be difficult as the fit is very snug. Hopefully over time it will break in and removal will become easier.

The top panel of the case gets the same colored mesh as the side panel. Beneath the mesh sit two 120mm blue LED fans with very nice lighting. The area around the mesh is cut out and adds a nice aesthetic feel to the case.

The front portion of the case houses the case controls. Prominently placed are the reset button, four fan controls, and the power button. During operation, the ring around the power button will glow blue to match the theme of the case, while the hard drive indicator light will flash red during operation. Each of the fan controller lights will glow red when activated - the fans operate simply as on and off - there is no fine tuning. The bonus is that you can turn the side and top mount fans off while you surf the internet to save on noise then turn them on later during gaming to keep your components nice and cool when they are being stressed. Just behind the door, tucked in the curve of the case is a built-in card reader that handles most standard formats.

Sliding the door open reveals even more high-end features (above right image). Sentey has given the Burton chassis a ton of port options. From left to right we have an external SATA port, eSATA port, four USB 2.0 ports, and headphone and microphone jacks. The only downside is that the USB ports are not USB 3.0.

The front panel of the GS-6500B Burton has five mesh slots to allow for air flow and to add to the overall look of the case. The top two face plates are stealthed to allow for optical drives. If you look closely, you can see the eject buttons on the right in the black band. Sentey has carried the line where the panel would open all the way down the faceplate. The bottom of the faceplate has a larger mesh cutout that allows the 120mm hard drive fan to pull air into the case. Just as with the top-mounted fans, this one also has blue LEDs. The back of the bottom cutout has a mesh filter to help keep dust out of the Burton.
