As was mentioned in
this press release from yesterday,
Seagate has released a FreeAgent Go drive bundled with a handful of Paramount Pictures' movies pre-loaded.
Seagate sent over a black 500GB unit loaded up with their typical utilities as well as all the movies, and we'll take a look at how this special bundle ticks. We've covered the FreeAgent Go series quite well so far, including reviews of the
320GB unit and
1TB unit, as well as plenty of their accessories. So, we'll skip performance testing and some of the other steps you might expect to see, and get down to the basics of the drive and the movies inside.
The primary benefit is that rights to view the 2009 Star Trek movie are included with the purchase of the drive. Any of the other titles on-board can be unlocked for a fee through an arrangement between Seagate and Paramount. The following list covers every other title found on the drive:
» The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
» GI Joe
» Shooter
» The Hunt for Red October
» The Italian Job (2003)
» Ghost
» Patriot Games
» Beowulf
» Enemy at the Gates
» The Spiderwick Chronicles
» The Love Guru
» Coach Carter
» The Manchurian Candidate (2004)
» Nacho Libre
» Jackass 2.5
» A Plumm Summer
» Carriers
» Dance Flick
» Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius
» Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
There are some good movies on there, a handful I don't care to ever see, as well as a couple I have never heard of (and probably don't need to see, either).
