Most enthusiasts are familiar with
Kingston Technology. They've been around for over 20 years, and unless you have been living under a rock or are new to the enthusiast scene, you know that they are a premiere manufacturer of everything from desktop and laptop memory, to flash drives and solid states drives.
In this review we will actually be taking a look at two Kingston products. The primary focus will be on a 4GB dual channel DDR3 kit from Kingston's flagship HyperX series of desktop memory - part number KHX1600C8D3K2/4GX. The other item is Kingston's HyperX KHX-FAN cooler, a rather simple accessory intend to keep your overclocked memory modules running cool.
Before taking a closer look at the samples provided for review, lets take a look at some of the published information available from the
Kingston HyperX website.
According to Kingston, the HyperX DDR3 memory modules "are specifically engineered and designed to meet the rigorous requirements of PC enthusiasts. DDR3 memory offers faster speeds, lower latencies, higher data bandwidths and lower power consumption than DDR2. HyperX DDR3 modules are available in single, dual and triple-channel memory kits."
