Testing:

To test whether or not the Cooler Master HAF 932 AMD limited edition case deserved the branding of High Air Flow, we used the same test components in a Cooler Master Gladiator 600 case that we reviewed earlier in order to compare results.

Thermal results from a few of the key components of the test system were monitored while installed in the two Cooler Master cases. Both of the test systems used only the stock fans. CPUID's Hardware Monitor 1.1.4.0 was used for measuring temperatures.

The idle temperatures were taken after a 30 minute period with only Hardware Monitor running. For load temperatures, we ran a combination of Prime 95 (with all 8 instances), SiSoft Sandra Professional's Burn-In test, and FutureMark 3DMark Vantage. All readings were noted and the average of the four core readings was recorded. For GPU temperatures, we took readings from each of the video cards and noted the average of the two cards.

The first chart we'll be looking at shows us the temperatures taken at idle. As you can see in the graph below, the HAF 932 is a few degrees cooler at idle than the smaller Gladiator 600. The biggest variant between the two cases was in the video card readings. The larger HAF 932 most likely gives the cards more room to breathe than the smaller, tighter Gladiator.

The second chart we'll examine shows the two units at load. As you can see from this chart, we get a slight bit more performance from the HAF chassis in the GPU and CPU readings this time around. Once again, the largest discrepancy comes from the SLI video cards.
