Testing (continued):

Sisoftware Sandra Professional 2009.SP4:

Sisoft Sandra's memory related benchmarks were run next, and four sets of results were recorded. We have values for Aggregate Memory Performance (in GB/s), Integer (in GB/s), Float (in GB/s), and Latency (in nanoseconds). Lower score for latency are better, while higher scores for the other tests are better.

The first two charts we'll look at with the Sandra Suite deal with memory bandwidth. In all three graphs below, the performance-grade kits all fail to beat the OEM memory. Only after we overclock the Crucial kit do we start to get close to the bandwidth numbers of the Elpida chips - but giving away over 500MHz in clock speed.

Aggregate results...

Integer results...

Float results...

The last chart we'll look at in the Sandra suite is memory latency. Our Crucial modules turned in the fastest time here with an impressive 84 nanosecond response time. Overclocking the RAM and loosening the timings a bit did not affect those numbers in the least.
