Testing Setup:

The W601 speakers are primarily designed to be computer speakers, so the first thing was to test them connected to a computer. My test system included the following hardware:

» Intel i5-3570K @ 4.2Ghz
» Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH
» Intel OEM cooler
» 16GB Generic DDR3 memory
» ASUS GTX 560Ti video card
» LG Blu-Ray burner
» Corsair CS600 power supply
» Windows 8 Enterprise

To test how games sound, I will be playing a few different games:

» Star Trek Online
» Far Cry 3
» Borderlands 2

The auxiliary input will be tested by connecting the 3.5mm connector to a Samsung Galaxy S3. In addition, the USB and SD capabilities will be tested with the following hardware:

» Patriot Gauntlet Node USB 3.0

Each of the above listed devices will be loaded with the same music files; encoded with normalized audio, and 320kbp with VBR off:
