Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX Case
February 07, 2008

External Examination:

Contrary to the image on the front of the box, the Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX case provided for review has an acrylic side window, which is an optional feature. The front of the case has a door covering the drive bays, and on the side you will be able to see your system's components thanks to the window. The vertical bar seen in the middle of the window in the below right image is the 3D Core-Fan system, and the holes just to the left of this will allow you to mount another fan if you would like.

The "front" audio and USB connections are actually located on the left side of the case. There is a hole for Firewire, but no connections are provided behind the plastic cover. I don't have any Firewire devices, but I think it's a bit funny that this is left out with a plastic cover over the "would be" location.

On the top of the case is where the power and reset buttons are found, along with the hard disk activity and power LED. This is a nice spot because it easily accessed; I hate when cases have a front door you need to open in order to power on the system.

Opening the door on the Sunbeamtech Tuniq 3 Mid Tower ATX case shows that you can have room for five 5.25" bay devices and two 3.5" bay devices. Unfortunately I can tell that the front bezel will need to be removed in order to install any devices. I guess I have become a bit spoiled in reviewing other cases where the bay covers pop out without removing the entire front bezel. The back of the case is fairly standard among ATX cases; power supply on the top, I/O shield for the motherboard's connections, 120mm fan location, seven expansion slots, and some ventilation holes.
