Sumo Lounge SumoSac Sultan Beanbag Chair
October 30, 2008

The Finished Product:

So now that we have seen the insides, let’s see what it looks like all put together. It is definitely pretty big and comfy, but remember it really does need some "sitting and fluffing" time before it really comes into its own. So give it some time, and give your arms and body a little work out.

So how big is it really? The promotional image below makes it look massive! This image from the Sumo Lounge website makes it look like this adult woman and a few of her friends could fit on the Sultan with room to spare.

In reality she must be tiny, or some photoshopping magic must have taken place since it really isn't that big! Because no one really wants to see me sitting on this thing, I figured I’d use my children; sort of like slave labor, but cuter. This is my 8 yr old daughter and 5 yr old son really hamming it up. It does hopefully give you a little reference for sizing, and as you can see it’s not as large as their website makes it appear.

Usage:

I spent a little time with my new Sumo Lounge SumoSac Sultan watching a little TV and playing a little Mario Cart on my Wii. Sadly, I wasn’t really able to get comfortable on this, as it’s a little too short and I was sitting in an odd position. It also really required me to use a pillow to keep my head in a comfortable position.

I can say that unless you’re a very short person (and I’m only 5’6”) you are going to have a difficult time sitting on this product as shown on their website. While I could say the Sumo Lounge SumoSac Sultan isn’t really uncomfortable, it wasn’t something that I personally could spend much time in. On the other hand, my kids absolutely love this thing! They have also put it through some real torture tests, as my five year old boy likes to make running leaps at it from across the room, and both kids like to play and jump on it. To this, the SumoSac Sultan has just laid there and barely even changed its shape. The cover is made of very high quality materials that feel very soft and cozy, and that multi-colored foam stuffing is made out of some very strong stuff.
